Getting faster, and steadier

The previous App Store release was 1.6.6, so this one delivers the whole 1.7 – 1.8 cycle at once.

Narrow faster: sidebar filters

• The sidebar groups results by location (a folder tree), kind, date and size, each with a live count. Click to narrow; filters show under the search field and can be removed one by one or cleared at once.
• Save a set of filters and recall it with ⌥↓. The free tier gets Location, Images and PDFs; the other groups are Pro.

Act faster: finish the job in the results

• New in the free tier: Open With, Duplicate, Share, Get Info, Open in Terminal, and Find Related (same folder / extension / name).
• New in Pro: batch rename, Move To, Copy To, compress, tags, and files modified or created the same day.
• Renames, duplicates, moves, copies, compression, tag changes and Move to Trash support ⌘Z undo; name clashes are skipped, never overwritten; the result list updates the moment you are done.

Find more

• Unplug an external drive or lose the NAS and the names already indexed stay searchable, marked "Not connected"; indexing resumes on reconnect, or click "Check Connection" to confirm right away.
• New syntax: tag: for Finder tags and path fragments with / (both free), regex: and created: (Pro).
• Cloud files that are not downloaded yet are marked "Not downloaded".

More trustworthy, quieter

• When macOS drops file-change notifications, only the affected disk is re-checked instead of rescanning everything; the first index builds faster and lighter on new and older Macs.
• If another app already owns your global hotkey, Locseek tells you which and offers working alternatives, one click to switch.
• Press ↑↓ while Quick Look is open to step through files.

The previous shipping version was 1.4.5, so this release delivers the whole 1.5 – 1.6 cycle at once.

More in Free

• Desktop, Documents and Downloads are no longer one-or-the-other — pick one, two, or all three. Each folder is authorized separately and shows its own status, so you always know what is searchable.
• New free query conditions hidden:, package: and under: pin results to an exact directory level.

More in Pro: from "several locations" to "any location"

• The entire startup disk, any folder, external drives, USB sticks, NAS and network shares. Authorize each added location; protected startup-disk folders also require Full Disk Access.

Faster

• Folder-scoped searches, one- and two-letter searches, and combined queries under non-ASCII paths are all substantially faster.

More accurate

• Settings changes apply to the current search immediately; newly created or moved folders no longer leave stale results behind.
• The status-bar number is always the count of items you can actually search.
• A series of cloud name-indexing defects fixed: adding "iCloud Drive" directly from Finder no longer scans only a few dozen items, and iCloud no longer keeps asking for authorization after you have selected the startup disk and enabled Full Disk Access.

Quieter

• Lower footprint during first indexing and after settings changes; index consolidation normally waits for idle time to reduce foreground interruptions.
